Yoga is an integral component of Vera’s vision. We welcome all people of any age, fitness level, or yoga experience into our community. Each class is designed with the intention to promote holistic wellness of mind, body and spirit. We offer a variety of classes, which are designed around physical exertion and challenge rather than experience level. While each yoga teacher has her/his own teaching style you can count on the energy level and difficulty of the class to be consistent. You can choose from gentle, moderate, or vigorous classes. Each of our instructors has a unique teaching style and comes from different training backgrounds. We encourage you to check out their bio’s and to try out different instructors to find the classes that are most beneficial to you.
This session is for people new to yoga or people interested in refining their practice. This session will includes instruction in the fundamentals of alignment, basic yoga poses (asana), breath and relaxation techniques, and stretching and strengthening exercises at a pace that allows students to find the subtle nuances of each pose. All shapes and sizes and fitness levels welcome.
This 75 minute session is perfect for beginners and all those who want to focus on increasing flexibility and reducing stress. Includes basic breathing practices as well as a variety of sitting, lying and minimal standing postures. The feeling of the class is restorative and rejuvenating. Pre-natal students are welcome.
This 60 minute session focuses on the balance of promoting both strength and flexibility. It incorporates basic standing and seated postures, breath control, and detailed instruction to challenge each individual at their appropriate level. Expect transitions from the floor to standing, single leg balances, introduction to intermediate poses, as well periods of exertion and rest.
This first half of this 75 minute session focuses on the balance of promoting both strength and flexibility. It incorporates basic standing and seated postures, breath control, and detailed instruction to challenge each individual at their appropriate level. Expect transitions from the floor to standing, single leg balances, introduction to intermediate poses, as well extended standing poses, balances and powerful vinyasas to build heat. The second half of the class is restorative and rejuvenating reducing stress and setting the tone for a wonderful week or day.
This 75 minute session combines elements of our moderate and vigorous sessions and will lean more towards one or the other depending on who comes to that session. Each session may include extended standing poses, balances, powerful vinyasas, seated postures as well as introductions to more advanced poses like inversions, back bends and arm/hand balances. All levels of yoga experience are welcomed as modifications to all poses are provided – but be prepared to sweat!
This 90 minute session will deepen your practice in this partner-assisted practice. By applying precise alignment with the support of a partner, you will access depths of opening that are otherwise difficult or impossible to reach on your own. Jamie and Zachary will introduce unique hands-on adjustments that unlock the physical and energetic possibilities of yoga practice. Experience this radical freedom of body, mind and heart. This session is open to students of all levels who wish to expand their understanding of yoga while also quickly advancing their practice. You are welcome to bring your own partner – friend, sibling, family member, or significant other – but this is not required to attend the session.
